A 25 YEAR
RETROSPECTIVE
The exhibition invites you to see Rwanda's story through the lens of its children. Starting in 2000 at the Imbabazi orphanage, 19 children—later known as the "Camera Kids"—used photography to document life, healing, and hope in post-genocide Rwanda. Their images stand as the most comprehensive visual chronicle of Rwanda's reconstruction, created by those most deeply affected.
Over time, the children became teachers, leading workshops that empower new generations, including children with disabilities and those from both sides of Rwanda's history.
Through The Eyes of Children offers a unique, uplifting perspective on Rwanda's past, 25 years and present — told not by journalists or historians, but by children themselves.
